By Charles Shaft Associated Press (Havanah, Cuba) Week one: After an all night social wherein the contestants and temptors where allowed to mingle, Fidel had the three bachelors select who they wanted to block their competitors from dating. Ranjuan and briano went first, selecting to block pedro from dating any chickens. Briano stated that they weren't so much worried about him scoring with the chicks as much as they were concerned he might eat them. Next Briano and Pedro blocked Ranjuan from the hermaphrodite monkey boy. "You could just tell there was some chemistry when they first meet," said Briano, "like when Sonny met Cher I bet." Finally Ranjuan and Pedro blocked Briano from Fidel. "We realize he wasn't one of the original temptors but Pedro thought he saw them slip off with a package of slim jims and anyways were not taking a chance." |
| On the third day the bachelors went on their first official dates. Pedro took a goat to a candle light supper and then on a long walk along the beach. "We really connected, but the feeling was purely plutonic," said Pedro. Ranjuan took a chicken on a hiking trip across the rainforest but the date came to a sudden end when an anaconda swallowed her whole. "We were really having a good time up to that point," said Ranjuan. "For an instant I considered going after her but that snake was freakin huge so I ran like hell." Finally Briano was to go on a date with monkey boy when some disturbing information was released to the press. In a public address on Wednesday, Fidel gave the following statement. "It has come to our attention that one of our contestants lied about his maritial status. Briano Peldez deliberately did not disclose his relation with Sheik Omar Sareffe as a member of his concubine and will be disqualified from further participation in the contest." Fidel further stated that while he was deeply disturbed by this turn of events, he and the producers were going to allow Briano, Omar and the rest of his harem to stay on a remote portion of the island and try to work out their problems. | |
